No. 8 What is the difference between a long radius elbow and a short radius elbow?

1. Different definitions

Long radius elbow: Long radius elbow refers to the radius of curvature of the elbow is 1.5 times the diameter of the pipe; if it is greater than 1.5 times, it is the scope of the elbow.

Short radius elbow: Short radius elbow means that the radius of curvature of the elbow is equal to the diameter of the pipe, which is often doubled.

2. Different applications

Long-radius elbows are the most commonly used. Long-radius will be used where the pressure or flow rate is high. If the resistance of the solid conveying pipeline is strict, use a larger-radius elbow. The short radius is generally used in low-pressure fluid or where the elbow is limited. If there are no conditions or the priority is not specified in the contract, the long radius elbow is preferred.
