Heating spiral welded steel pipes before hot rolling not only improves the metal’s plasticity and reduces deformation force, but also facilitates rolling. Furthermore, during the heating process, certain structural defects and stresses introduced by the ingot can be eliminated. Spiral welded steel pipe manufacturers should specify the following requirements for steel heating:
1. The temperature of the spiral welded steel pipe should be uniform across the cross-section and along its length.
2. The steel temperature should meet the requirements of the rolling process.
3. The heating furnace for spiral welded steel pipes should have few accidents and a long service life;
4. The heating furnace for spiral welded steel pipes should have good technical and economic indicators.
5. Reduce oxidation and decarburization of the spiral welded steel pipes, and prevent overheating and burning.
